Scoliosis training in Melbourne using Functional Patterns principles.

Scoliosis: 6‑month scholarship (1 spot)

I’m looking for one committed person with scoliosis who can train consistently for 24 weeks and track progress. You must be available on weekdays 6:30–8:30am or 6–10pm and be willing to place a $1,000 commitment bond (refunded or credited if you complete the program).

Not medical advice. Outcomes vary. This is training + measurement + accountability.

Why Functional Patterns for scoliosis?

Scoliosis isn’t just “a curve.” It often shows up alongside compensation patterns: shifted ribs/pelvis, uneven loading through feet/hips, asymmetrical breathing mechanics, and movement strategies that keep reinforcing the same bias day after day.

The Functional Patterns lens is simple: your structure reflects your repeated inputs. Training is about upgrading those inputs—how you stand, walk, breathe, hinge, rotate, and load—so your body has a reason to organize differently over time.

Potential benefits you may notice

  • Reduced pain, stiffness, and “hot spots” from chronic compensation
  • Better breathing mechanics and trunk control under load
  • Improved balance and left/right symmetry in walking and training
  • More confidence in daily movement and sport
  • A clearer plan (instead of random exercises that don’t move the needle)

Some people may also see measurable changes in curvature over time. Others may primarily see improvements in pain, function, and control. Either way, we track objectively.

The offer

I want to run this as a structured, high‑accountability case study. The goal is to create a clear “before/after” story based on objective measures and training consistency.

6‑Month Scoliosis Scholarship (1 spot)

Training value: $5,000

Your cost today: $1,000 commitment bond (up front)

  • Bond outcome: if you complete the 24‑week program, I’ll refund the $1,000 or credit it toward future training (your choice).
  • Duration: 24 weeks
  • Coaching: 2 coached session per week (in‑person) + a structured plan for the rest
  • Training frequency: 2–4 total training days per week (includes self‑training)
  • Session times: weekdays 6:30–8:30am or 6–10pm

What you get

  • Initial movement assessment + a clear 24‑week plan
  • Progress tracking (video + key movement benchmarks) so we’re not guessing
  • At‑home work so progress isn’t limited to in‑session time
  • Program updates and check‑ins as you improve (and as constraints show up)

Measurement requirements

  • X‑rays required (baseline and follow‑up) to track curvature over time
  • We also track functional markers (breathing control, gait, symmetry, strength under load, pain scores)
  • Medical clearance may be required depending on your history and clinician advice

Who this is for

  • You’re ready to train 2–4 days/week for 6 months
  • You’re available for coached sessions on weekdays 6:30–8:30am or 6–10pm
  • You can commit to in‑person training in Melbourne’s South East
  • If you’re already training with a Functional Patterns practitioner: it’s usually best to continue working with that practitioner. Please only apply if you’re not currently under active FP coaching, or you’ve discussed changing trainers with your current practitioner.
  • You’re comfortable tracking progress (video + movement benchmarks)
  • You can organize baseline and follow‑up imaging (X‑rays required)
  • You’re willing to place a $1,000 commitment bond up front
  • You want a plan — and you’ll actually follow it

How to apply

  1. Submit an enquiry via the Contact page (or book a call). Mention “Scoliosis Scholarship” in your message.
  2. Include a ~500‑word write‑up covering:
    • How scoliosis has impacted you (physically, emotionally, socially)
    • What you’ve tried and what worked / didn’t
    • Why you want to make a change now
    • What it would mean to you if you improved meaningfully
    • Your realistic weekly schedule (2–4 training days) and which coached time window you can do: weekdays 6:30–8:30am or 6–10pm
    • Confirmation that you can organise baseline + follow‑up X‑rays
    • Confirmation you’re comfortable placing the $1,000 commitment bond up front to secure the spot
  3. If it looks like a fit, I’ll invite you to an initial call + assessment. If you’re selected, we’ll lock in your weekly time, take baseline measures, and start the 24‑week plan.

Melbourne (South East). In‑person sessions are required for this scholarship.

Important notes

  • I can’t promise a specific curvature change. Outcomes vary.
  • This is training (not physiotherapy). If you’re under medical care, we can work alongside it.
  • X‑rays are required and are organised/paid by you (baseline + follow‑up).
  • $1,000 commitment bond: if you complete the 24‑week program and meet the agreed participation standards (attendance + training log), I’ll refund it or credit it toward future training. If you stop early or repeatedly miss sessions, the bond is forfeited.
  • This scholarship is for one committed person who can train weekdays 6:30–8:30am or 6–10pm.
  • If you’re open to a public case study, we can discuss that respectfully (optional).
